Today, the oil and gas sector is one of Russia’s most strategically important industries. The market is developing rapidly using the resources of both domestic and overseas companies. Because of the dynamic growth over the past few years, the market is experiencing a significant shortage of professional staff, both at mid-level and senior management. Frequently, when inviting expats to work on contract in Russia, employers impose a condition that a Russian specialist be trained as a replacement.
Selection of staff for the oil and gas sector was placed in the hands of an independent Oil and Gas Department by LRB in 2003. The department is continuing to expand, and in 2006 its staff increased from five to eight, and the number of completed orders rose from 34 to 56.
Among the department’s strengths are a database of more than 12000 specialists, and unique experience of working in the Russian regions.
At the end of 2005 TNK-BP and Shell independently gave LRB the accolade of best personnel selection agency in Russia.
